SALVATION
Salvation is the focus of the Bible. It implies the ideas of deliverance,
safety, preservation, healing, and soundness, while covering all redemptive
acts and processes, such as justification, redemption, grace, propitiation,
imputation, forgiveness, sanctification, and glorification. (Luke
7:50; II Corinthians 2:15; Ephesians 2:5-8; Galatians 2:19-20; Romans
1:16-17; 3:27-28; 10:9-10; Titus 2:11)
SANCTIFICATION
Sanctification is a three-fold process, with a uniform meaning to
set one's self and possessions apart for God.
- The believer is set apart
by redemption.
- The believer is continuously
being sanctified by the works of the Holy Ghost, the scriptures,
and the mortification of the deeds of the flesh.
- The believer completes the
process by awaiting the glorious appearing of the Lord.
(Hebrews 10:10; I Thessalonians
5:23; Leviticus 11:44; Romans 6:6; I Corinthians 6:9-11; II Corinthians
3:18;
Titus 2:12; John 17:16-19;I John 3:2; Colossians 3:5; Gal. 5:19-21;
II Corinthians 6:14-18)
THE BAPTISM
IN THE HOLY GHOST
All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly
seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Ghost and
fire (Luke 3:16). With the baptism comes the endowment of power for
life and service, the speaking of tongues, and the bestowing of the
gifts for use in the work of the ministry. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8;
2:4; 4:1-13; I Corinthians 14:22; Acts 10:45-46; Galatians 5:22-23;
Luke 11:13)
BAPTISM IN
WATER
Baptism by immersion is commanded in the scripture. All who repent
and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. Thus,
they declare to the world that they have died with Christ, and that
they also are raised with Him to walk in newness of life. This ordinance
should be administered by immersion in the name of the Father, and
the Son, and the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 10:47-48;
Romans 6:3-4)
A HOLY LIFE
The scriptures teach a life of holiness without which no man shall
see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). It is a lifestyle that should be exhibited
by the believer. By the power of the Holy Ghost we are able to obey
the command: "Be ye holy for I am Holy." (Leviticus 11:44;
I Peter 1:15-16; 2:4-12; Psalms 1:1-6; Romans 6:12-14)
THE CHURCH
The church is the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the
Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of her great
commission. The church constitutes born-again, blood-washed, and spirit-baptized
believers under the headship and authority of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The church will not cease, for the gates of hell will not prevail
against it (Ephesians 1:20-23; 5:23-24; Hebrews 12:23; Matthew 16:18;
28:16-20; Colossians 1:18).
DIVINE HEALING
Divine healing is provided for through the atonement of Jesus Christ.
(Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16; James 5:14-16; Mark 16:18)
HEAVEN
Through the scripture we know that God has prepared for us a new heaven
and a new earth.
(II Peter 3:13; Revelations 21:1-6; Philippians 3:20; John 14:2-3)
HELL
There will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised
and judged according to their works. Those whose names are not found
written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels,
will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burneth
with fire and brimstone. (Revelations 20:10-15; Luke 16:19-31; Mark
9:43-48; Revelations 19:20; Luke 10:17-20)
THE BLESSED
HOPE
There will be a resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ
and their translation together with those who are alive and remain
until the coming of the Lord. This is the imminent and blessed hope
of the church.
(I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Romans 8:23; I Corinthians 15:51-52; I John
3:2-3; Acts 1:10-11; Titus 2:13)
THE LORD'S
SUPPER
The Lord's Supper, consisting of the elements - bread and the fruit
of the vine - constitutes the theological basis of fellowship by which
the assembled church commemorates the death and resurrection of Christ
as its source of spiritual life. (II Peter 1:4; I Corinthians 11:23-29;
Matthew 26:28)
TITHING
AND OFFERING
All members of the church are expected, according to the word of God,
to pay a tenth of their increase unto the Lord known as tithes, and
be supportive to the church with offerings. Through the obedience
of this membership, the church will be self-supporting "if"
we give to God as He has prospers us. (Numbers 18:21, 24, 32; I Corinthians
9:13; 16:2; Deuteronomy 14:22; Nehemiah 12:44; Malachi 3:8-12; Leviticus
27:30, 34; Genesis 14:20; Proverbs 3:9-10; Matthew 23:23)
MARRIAGE
In Genesis, Chapters 1 and 2, God instituted the marriage covenant.
Jesus taught concerning this subject, and we regard the instruction
of the Apostle Paul. (Genesis 1:27-28; 2:18, 20-25; Matthew 5:32;
Mark 10:2-10;
I Corinthians 7; Hebrews 13:4)
THE HOLY
TRINITY
There is God, eternally existent in three persons; God the Father,
God the Son and God the Holy Ghost (Ephesians 4:4-6).
THE DEITY OF
OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
- His Pre-eminence (Colossians
1:15-19)
- His Incarnation (John 1:1-4,
13-14)
- His Virgin Birth (Matthew 1:23;
Luke 1:31, 35)
- His Sinless Life (Hebrew 7:26;
I Peter 2:22)
- His Miracles (Acts 2:22; 10:30)
- His Vicarious and Atoning Death
(I Corinthians 15:3; II Corinthians 13:4)
- His Bodily Resurrection from
the Dead (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39; I Corinthians 15:4)
- His Ascension to the Right
Hand of God (Acts 1:9; Hebrews 1:3)
- His Personal and Future Return
to the Earth (Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 4:16-18).
